The Brandrick contingent of Prestatyn Running Club had a family outing to Ruthin on Sunday, four members competing in the Bespoke 10k along country lanes.

Gareth finished in 43.20 while his wife Katrina, on her first attempt at the distance, was accompanied throughout by his father Paul and she did well to break the hour in 55.21. The quartet was made up by Paul’s wife Gill in 65.21.

The only other members taking part club were Sharon Jones, who clocked 53.17, and Dafydd Owen, who, unusually for him, tackled the shorter 5k and finished in 25.42.

Benjamin Harrison was the only club representative in the Conwy Parkrun and he finished in a new pb of 22.06. Samantha Griffiths, one of the club’s beginners’ group, also ran and had good reason to be happy with her time of 34.22 as part of her build-up to the Chester half-marathon.

A week after running the Rhyl 10-miler Hadyn Johnson headed to Cheshire and the Oulton Park half-marathon on the race circuit. He finished in 2-00.50.

t has now been confirmed that the club’s AGM will be held at the Ffrith Beach complex on April 1, and anyone wishing to have an item placed on the agenda should notify Gareth Hughes by March 18.

It has also been confirmed that the club will host the final fixture of the Borders Road-Running League on April 27 and it will be followed by the prizegiving.
