Prestatyn Running Club members can look forward to Sunday’s opening fixture of the Borders Road-Running League with some excitement and optimism after both the men and women were promoted to Division 1 last season.
Both squads are, if anything, stronger this time both in quality and quantity with the likes of Leon Bagnall, Rob Alexander and Jo Hoppes having come in and teenagers Jenna Bagnall and Sophia Jerbi also running well. It is hoped that some of the improvers’ group who have shown great determination and enthusiasm over recent months will boost the numbers still further.
Sunday’s race is over the same 10k course at Caernarfon as was used three weeks ago for the North Wales championships when the club picked up a host of awards.
On Saturday some of the club’s juniors will also be in action in the first fixture of the Pyramid Consultancy North Wales Junior Cross-County League at Bangor, and training has gone well under the guidance of Eva Brewer and Mike Davis.
