Prestatyn RC’s ladies and men teams again turned out in force with 32 runners in the opening fixture of the North Wales Cross Country League on the tough hilly fields behind Mold Alun School, the ladies running 3.2 miles with men 5.1.

The ladies were again led home by Amie Bagnall and are 5th in Division One, an excellent achievement by all following their recent promotion.

Amie placed 1st Senior Lady and Coral Mc Shane 3rd U20.

It was great to see Sophia Jerbi, Valery Jones, Amy Williamson, Emma Fairhurst, Leon Bagnall, Morgan Jones and James Williamson debut at this level and strengthen the teams.

The men 3rd in Division two due to the return of Stephen Stakes after injury, youth and fine gutsy performances from all.

Super vets John Hickman placed 3rd V70 with Dave Hughes 1st V75.

Earlier in the day 3 juniors Jack McKenna, Eden Jones and Rachel Hyslop represented Prestatyn in the Junior Cross Country.

Meanwhile super mileage man George Nichols finished his final 100 mile run in the Centurion Grand Slam Challenge, four races each 100 mile long finishing 6th in the Event and receiving a special award for doing so.
