After the mud of recent cross-country events it was the wind which competitors had to contend with in the annual Nick Beer 10k around Llandudno’s Great Orme, but it proved to the liking of Prestatyn Running Club members who collected another haul of team and individual awards.

Steve Skates was again in superb form, finishing third overall and leading the men’s team to gold in the Welsh championships, which were incorporated in the race.

There were several other members among the prizewinners in the open race and championship, with the Bagnall sisters again shining, and helping the ladies take second place in the national championship.

Amie was third senior lady while younger sister Jenna was second under 20 and was awarded the trophy for the outstanding performance by a North Wales junior.
