The thoughts of members of Prestatyn Running Club are with super-vet Dafydd Owen this week as he recovers from a motorbike accident last weekend.

The 66-year-old was on his way home from the Llantysilio fell-race near Llangollen when he came off his machine. He fractured his left leg and was taken to the Maelor Hospital, but has set himself a target of being back on the hills again in about six months’ time.

It really was a Good Friday for Matty Smith and Amie Bagnall who both set pbs in the Salford 10k. Matty clocked 40.29 (chip time) and Amie was close behind in 40.55.

Five members of the club took part in the Easter 5k on Llandudno promenade, with Benjamin Harrison leading the squad home in 36th place overall with a time of 21.47. He was followed by Amy Reid (44th in 22.42), Alan Jones (65th in 23.43), Ally Reid (93rd in 26.20) and Jackie Pottle (104th in 27.40).

In contrast with the previous Saturday only two members turned out in the latest Conwy Parkrun. Gareth Roberts was 23rd in 22.53 and Beverley Davies 196th in 35.48, just outside her pb.

The club’s annual meeting will be held at the Ffrith Beach Complex at 7pm on April 1 and it is hoped that many of the new members will join the regular attendees.
