Two weeks after his fine performance in the London Marathon Prestatyn Running Club’s Steve Skates showed no signs of weariness when winning the Two Lakes trail race on Sunday.
The half-marathon involves circuits of the Brenig and Alwen reservoirs and he finished in a superb 1-24, five minutes faster than last year when he came second.
He was followed by Rob Alexander in 1-44.21, Helen Ashworth in 1-53, Wyn Roberts 2-08, Jo Hoppes 2-08, Sue Rodgers 2-11 and Jo Edwards 2-12.
On May 21 the club will once again be hosting the North Wales 5k championships, but this time over a new 5k course starting and finishing at the Ffrith Beach.
The main race starts at 11.15am and will be preceded by junior races.
