With no other competitions available four members of Prestatyn Running Club opted on Saturday for making their debuts in the Conwy Parkrun – and it proved a fruitful visit.
Andrew Bromley finished third overall in 18.36, with Leon Bagnall sixth in 19.09, Gareth Bailey 35th in 21.50 and Morgan Jones two places further back in 21.57. Also taking part were Benjamin Harrison (47th in 22.43), Jackie Pottle (132nd in 29.22), Emma Fairhurst (155th in 31.31), Alexandra White (175th in 32.50) and Julie Evans (191st in 35.45).
This Saturday the fourth and penultimate fixture of the Grand Prix Express North Wales Cross-Country League is being hosted by Shrewsbury AC at Baschurch, and runners will be hoping for better conditions than last year when the course was a quagmire.
The club has a 17-seat minibus going and anyone wishing to travel on it is asked to contact Mike Davis on 01745 – 798942, though there are few places left. Both the men’s and women’s teams have a lot to go for, with the men looking to secure promotion to Division 1.
