With few other races on at the weekend members of Prestatyn Running Club turned to Parkruns, turning out in four different venues.

On a new course in Newborough Forest Matty Smith finished sixth in 20.27 and Amie Bagnall was second lady, just two seconds behind.

Once again there were pbs galore. Wepre: 48 Steven Brown 27.02 (pb), 58 Liam Martin 27.42, 71 Liz Martin 28.42 (pb).

Conwy: 63 Alan Jones 24.30, 65 Martin Gill 24.38, 74 Grances bGarnett 25.14 (pb), 82 Clare Atterbury 25.52 (pb), 109 Jan Garnett 27.39, 118 Sarah Anderson 28.03 (pb), 122 Roger Harrison-Jones 28.14.

Chester: 35 Nigel Bakewell 22.27.

James Rogers has been as busy as usual over the past week. On Wednesday evening he finished 58th in the Druid fell-race from Llanferres, in 51.37, and then on Saturday completed the 8.5-mile Tal-y-Fan fell-race in Rowen, clocking 1-45.48.

Andrew Aitken set a club “first” by competing in an unusual event – a hilly 5-miler around the JCB factory in Rocester, near Uttoxeter. In very warm weather he finished in 46 minutes.
