Josh Cerefice, who has created quite an impression since joining Prestatyn Running Club earlier this year, claimed his first victory at the weekend.

After fine performances on road and country it was only a matter of time before he started picking up awards and his win came in the Porth Eirias 10k in Colwyn Bay, clocking 36.50 .

Other results from the same event were: 29 Darren Thompson 46.44 (3rd M50), 64 Martin Gill 53.13, 95 Helen Alefounder 56.04, 96 Katharine Prestwich 56.22, 122 Sandy Kelman 59.46 (3rd L60).

James Rodgers was the club’s sole representative among the 2,500 runners in this year’s Snowdonia Marathon. Like so many other competitors he found it tough going on the steep climb out of Waunfawr, suffering cramp, but he held on to beat his pb by two minutes and was 321st in 3-46.41.

Teenagers Jenna Bagnall and Lois Lee had their own personal duel in the Bodelwyddan Parkrun, with the former getting the better of her clubmate and fellow Welsh international.

Jenna was 4th overall and second lady in 22 minutes, with Lois one place and 12 seconds behind. Other results: 8 Steve Weedman 22.29, 19 Ally Reid 23.00, 25 Steve Brown 26.29.

Clare Atterbury set a new pb of 26.05 at the Wepre Parkrun, while at Conwy Roger Harrison-Jones clocked 29.34, once again being first M80.
