With a busy few weeks behind them and an even busier month ahead the weekend provided a short break for most members of Prestatyn Running Club.
The cancellation of the Bodelwyddan Castle Parkrun due to the weather also deprived some members of competitive action. However, six members turned out in the wind and rain at Conwy, with Gethin Evans equalling his pb while coming fifth overall in 20.23.
Other placings were: 34 Sian Beck 24.24, 42 Mike Pearson 25.07, 54 Andy Clark 26.07, 79 Martin Gill 28.45, 86 Roger Harrison-Jones 29.07.
Gareth Roberts joined a field of 81 at the scenic Hawarden Park trail 10k, coming 24th in 56.17.
In the past two years the club has run very successful beginners’ sessions, and the next series will begin on January 7.
The programme will last 10 weeks, the aim being that participants will then be able to cover at least 5k.
The sessions will be held every Monday and Wednesday at the Ffrith Complex, with a third session if required. The cost is £10 per head, which covers insurance and the cost of a high-vis vest.
Members are urged to submit their entries for the North Wales Cross-Country Championships at Rhug , Corwen, on January 5 as entries will not be accepted on the day. As the club is once again hosting the event marshals are also needed and volunteers are asked to notify Duncan Longley.
