Next weekend sees a tough return to competitive action for local athletes when Prestatyn Running Club once again host the North Wales Cross-Country Championships at Rhug, Corwen.
The club has picked up numerous individual and team awards at the event in the past and with the conditions looking good there should be some exciting races.
Over 300 entries have been received, with the junior races incorporating both the ch ampionship and the final fixture of the North Wales Junior League.
Chief Marshal Duncan Longley is still appealing for volunteers to help on the day.
Three members shook off the Christmas lethargy by turning out in the 6k Round the Walls race in Chester on Boxing Day. Husband-and-wife Gareth and Ann-Marie Roberts clocked 34.00 and 37.00 respectively, and Julie Evans’ time of 51.59 was just 15 seconds down on last year.
