Rhewl Social Run

Published In PRC News

Hi all.

Just a final reminder about the Rhewl Run next Wednesday (18th).

We aim to meet at the village pavilion at 6.30 to start running at 6.45. Rhewl is on the Denbigh – Ruthin A525 road. On entering the village drive past the Drovers’ Arms (on your left) and take the next left signed for Gellifor/ Llandyrnog. The pavilion/ playing-field is about 200 yards down the road on the left-hand side (postcode LL15 1TH), and there is plenty of parking space.

Like last time, we’ll all set off together and as we leave the village there is one potentially dangerous section on the main road where there is no footpath over a fairly narrow bridge which is always busy, so be ultra-cautious and run in single-file there.

We’ll then regroup at the top of the first hill . The faster group will then go their own way and the other two groups will stay together for a while before splitting up.

All 3 runs involve some hills and there could be some mud, though not a lot. The shortest route is roughly 2.5-3m, the middle one 3.5-4 and the longer (fastest) one 4.5m. Some bits are quite technical, with rocks and roots. A few attendees are simply going for a shortish walk.

I anticipate that the vast majority will be in the middle group, which I shall lead. I’ll be marking the other routes.

Please remember that it is a social run so make sure that no-one is left trailing behind. There are also 3-4 non-members among the 40+ attending so please make them feel welcome.

Showers and changing rooms are available and I expect we’ll be eating at about 8pm.

Cheers,

Gareth H
